![]() It was (maybe) 20 minutes make the harness and about another 10 to put in in the car.ĭoh! I see SLC just posted the same thing. Twist them together, solder and then cover with the heat shrink When you're all done, twist the entire custom adapter as that will compress the assembly and make it easier to fit back behind the HU as you slide it back in. Get some heat shrink and put a ~3/4" piece on each lead from the adapter. You WILL find there are extra (unused) wires in most cases. To do it right, match your new HU harness wire functions to the standard GM harness (as was said previously, ignore colors). ![]() It's REALLY easy to create your own custom wiring adapter. No shipping, no waiting! All you need is the 90 & Newer adapter. Forget the on-line search and just go get the adapter at your local Walmart. If you want Aux In, you will have to install an FM modulator, or find an aftermarket head unit. The Equinox doesn't share the audio systems with the VUE. There is no way to AUX in to the stock Saturn radios. The most common Saturn audio wiring doesn't utilize any of the "special" GM audio features (like wheel controls). Re: Back of Radio - looking for AUX input. It's not worth paying someone to do it when its child's play. ![]() I was intimidated the first time I did it, and now I do not hesitate to install my own stereo. Then you simply plug each end into the CAR, and into the STEREO, and you're done. Or if you want just wrap the wires together using the wire twist method (but do it tight and securely) Solder the matching wires (not all are always needed so do not worry if you have some left over) Tape up the connectors or use shrink wrap. You then take it home and put it on a work bench. You take the wiring harness you bought at WalMart (or wherever) for your car. You take the connector that comes with your new stereo (in the box) So when i get this adapter, the wires i need to splice/connect is the adapter that connects to the stock connector, and the wire harness that comes with the radio?, just look up the right wire and match them up.right? the its the new radio's harness connected to an adpter that connects with my car's connector for the radio? OKAY, i saw a video on installing a new car radio in general.
